Scented Cookie Ornaments

Parchment paper (baking supply)
Brown Hearty Clay
Cinnamon powder
4mm Silver beads (Fibre Crafts)
White Mist Scribbles Dimensional Paint (Duncan)
Miniature candy cane (Darice)
8mm mini light bulbs (Darice)
Miniature Santa hat (Darice)
No-hole and seed beads (your color choice) (Art Accents, Fibre Crafts)
Cinnamon or clove scented essential oil (soap or candle dept.)
White glue or FabriTac glue (Beacon Adhesives)
Gingerbread boy and heart cookie cutters
Non-stick rolling tool

Roll out the clay on parchment paper or a non-stick surface. Cut out the cookie shapes and sprinkle on the cinnamon powder while the clay is still moist. Make indentations with a silver bead where you want to glue the silver beads. Allow the clay cookies to dry completely, turning them to prevent warping.

Apply the dimensional paint to the center of the heart cookie and use it to decorate the gingerbread boy. Before the dimensional paint is dry on the heart cookie, sprinkle on the seed beads and no-hole beads. After the dimensional paint is dry, glue the silver beads in the indentations made earlier and also glue on the Santa hat, candy cane, and light bulbs.

Apply scented oils to the back of the cookie shapes.

Glue a ribbon loop to the back of the ornaments to hang on the tree.

Arrange lots of cookie ornaments on a plate as a centerpiece. Be sure to inform guests that they are not edible.
