Instructions:
Unscrew the notepad and remove the chipboard cover. Set the pages and
bottom cover on the side for now. Take the cover and place the washi paper or
printed cardstock along the bottom edge and tape in place. Use your scissors
to trim and round the corners to match the chipboard cover. This is the kimono.
Place the beige cardstock above the kimono, overlapping slightly and tape in
place for the face.
About 1” in from both sides, place the 3/8” strips of cardstock at a “V” angle
onto the kimono top to form the collar. Trim off excess and tape in place. Place
the 1/2” strip horizontally across, overlapping at the bottom point of the collar.
Trim off the excess and tape in place for the obi.
Trace and cut out “hair” from black cardstock according to the pattern. Place
hair onto the cover, lining up with the top and side edges. Tape in place. Trim
and round top corner to match the chipboard cover.
Punch out two 1/4” circles from the black cardstock for the eyes. Place on the
face and glue in place with mini glue dots. Take the White Galaxy marker and
make a small dot on each eye for highlights.
Punch out two 3/8” circles from the pink cardstock. Place on the face below the
eyes for the cheeks. Glue in place with mini glue dots.
Punch a hole in the hair on the cover so you can place the screw back in.
Reassemble the notebook and screw together.
Take the 6-strand embroidery floss and separate into 3 strands. Thread one
bead onto the 3-strand floss. Bring the ends of the floss together and thread all
6 strands onto the needle. String two more beads onto the floss and push down
to the first bead. Repeat with the other piece of 3-strand floss and three beads.
Tie the two floss strands together. Tie and wrap this piece around the screw top
so that it dangles down on top of the hair.
Punch one large and one small flower from cardstock. Use a mini glue dot to
glue the small flower to the center of the larger flower onto the screw top.
