Boy’s Day Fish
Creative Idea by Rachel A.
Supplies:
7” x 6” cardstock
20mm moving eyes #30055152
2 qty. 6” pieces of 1/8” Satin Ribbon, White #30116526
¼” Double Stick Tape #30013284
Craft Glue Dots #30001508
Wink of Stella Brush Pens OR Scribbles Paint
(contrasting color to cardstock)
We R Candy Box Punch Board #30147685
Optional:
¼” Hole Puncher #77178558
1/8” Dowel Rods #77187526
Instructions:
Follow directions on Candy Box Punch Board to punch and score your box. Keep 2 of the diamonds that get punched out to use as the fish’s fins. Use either the Wink of Stella Brush Pens or Scribbles Paint to draw on fish scales before assembling box. If you use Scribbles then you will have to give it at least an hour to dry.
Fold the four sides of the box and tape together using the Double Stick Tape. Use the Craft Glue Dots to adhere the eyes on opposite sides of the box, about 1.5” from the top of the box. Take the 2 diamond cut outs from the punch board and fold them in half. Use the glue dots to adhere them about ½” under the eyes. Adhere it so that the bottom half of the triangle is glued down and the top half folds down over it.
Use one of the 6” pieces of ribbon to tie around the bottom of the box where the diamonds were cut out. Tie it just tight enough that it folds in but the body of the fish is still puffed out. Fill the box with treats before you tie the 2nd piece of ribbon around the top of the box.
Optional:
Use the hole puncher to punch a hole on opposite sides of the box. Use a 12” piece of ribbon to string through the holes and tie the fish to the dowel rod so that it hangs.
